Your supply chain is a major asset of your business, having a good grasp of who is in your supply chain and what they are capable of supplying to you is essential. This task can be quite overwhelming at times, good processes are the key to getting on top of it and keeping it that way.
Managing the suppliers you are actively using correctly enables a healthy and effective relationship to flourish. This an area you could build on to strengthen existing suppliers relationships and help prevent problems occurring in the future.
It’s really important to check what is happening in practice to maintain the effectiveness of your supply chain. This will allow under performance or questionable working practices to be nipped in the bud before they cause you a problem. If you don’t have the resource to do checks yourself this can be brought in from external sources who have the benefit of providing another perspective.
